Flat-screen TV lounge: The lounge in this hostel is like a cozy living room where you can unwind and socialize with fellow travelers. It's as if you have your own private Netflix marathon party with new friends.
Lack of cycling infrastructure: Limited bike-friendly routes made getting to the hostel an uphill battle.

I absolutely loved the cozy and inviting atmosphere of the hotel. The decoration was charming and made me feel right at home. The hotel's general areas were well-maintained and easily accessible for seniors like me. It was a pleasure to relax and socialize in the common areas, and I appreciated the attention to detail in creating a comfortable environment for guests.
If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to have more assistance available for senior guests. While the staff was friendly and helpful, it would have been nice to have some additional support tailored specifically to the needs of older individuals.

The decoration had a lovely vintage touch, with beautiful antiques and artwork that gave it a warm and homely feel. The general areas, such as the common room and dining area, were spacious and comfortable, perfect for relaxation and socializing. As a senior woman, I truly appreciated how accessible the hotel was for people of all ages. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, always ready to assist me with any needs or concerns. It made my stay feel like being taken care of by my own children.
If I could ask for one improvement for a better vacation for senior people, it would be to have more grab bars and handrails in the bathrooms. This would provide additional support and stability, especially for those of us who may have mobility challenges.

I recently stayed at Hi Espinho in Espinho for a few nights. The hostel is perfect for groups of youth involved in sports activities, thanks to its location right next to a major sports facility. The rooms were spacious and the WC/showers were clean and of good quality. I loved the fact that I could open the windows and enjoy the nice breezes while hearing the ocean at night. The guest kitchen was a great addition, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful.
I do recommend this hotel.

great breakfast, spacious rooms, friendly staff. Loved the open space for activities and nearby park. Clean and comfortable stay, felt like home away from home.
Shower knob required constant pushing for water.

The rooms were quite spacious and the WC/showers were decent. Plus, opening the window offered a nice breeze and the sound of the ocean at night, even though it was a bit far away. The guest kitchen was a great facility and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel was a bit of a downer. It was quite far from the city center and there was no public transit available.

The seating area was a nice touch, providing a little corner to relax and unwind. The private bathroom with a shower was convenient and clean. Plus, the free WiFi was a big bonus!
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the shared bathroom facilities in the female dormitory room. But hey, that's just my preference.

The lounge area with a flat-screen TV was a great place to unwind and meet other travelers. I felt like I was in my own cozy living room, just with a lot more interesting people. The twin beds in my room were incredibly comfortable. It felt like sleeping on a cloud, which was exactly what I needed after a long day of exploring Espinho. The private bathroom in my room was a pleasant surprise. It was clean, spacious, and the shower had amazing water pressure. I felt like I was in a fancy hotel, without the hefty price tag. The location of the hostel was perfect for golf enthusiasts like me. Oporto Golf Club and Clube de Golf de Miramar were just a short distance away, making it a convenient starting point for a day on the greens. The hostel's free continental breakfast was a great way to start the day. I couldn't resist going for seconds, especially when there were so many delicious options to choose from. The presence of safety features like fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and a security system put my mind at ease. I felt secure and well taken care of during my stay.
City center a bit far.

Nice lounge to relax and socialize, plenty of restaurants nearby. They even provide safety features like a fire extinguisher, just in case the place catches fire. Guests can play mini-golf, in case they want to take a break from the breathtaking ambiance.
The breakfast was such a disappointment, I mean, who wants a free continental breakfast when you can have a gourmet feast? Ugh.

I particularly enjoyed the spacious bedrooms and common areas, as well as the open space for outdoor activities. the hostel is also conveniently located near a public park and a laundry facility. it offered good value for money, especially if you have a car to reach the hostel. Cons: Nothing 🙌.

We had a fantastic stay at this youth hostel. The staff were super friendly, making us feel right at home. The facilities were comfortable and well-maintained. We especially appreciated the spacious bedrooms, clean WC/showers, and the option to open the windows and enjoy the refreshing ocean breeze. The location was a bit far from the center, but we didn't mind the 35-minute walk, and there were affordable transportation options available. The breakfast offered veggie options, a nice touch.
Nothing not to like.
